Business Owner Faces Jail & $250,000 Fine After Employee Fatality

Wayne George, owner of A Rotter Man of Pittsburgh, LLC, faces up to 6 months in prison and a $250,000 fine after he willfully violated OSHA’s trenching protection standards, which resulted in the death of an employee.

George pleaded guilty to ignoring safety requirements which resulted in the death of Jacob Casher after the trench he was working in caved in.

This is a reminder of what can happen to business owners who fail to manage their OSHA compliance requirements.
